We took Connor on a 2,300+ mile road trip when he was barely two months old! One of the MAIN REASONS that we drove to Oregon was to see family and friends that had not seen Connor yet. Johnathan's parents fell into this category as Dennis had a heart surgery and wasn't able to come down for the birth.
Along the way we stopped to see some friends.
Crystal watched Connor as Jannene and Johnathan were brushing their teeth. It was great seeing Crystal and Chris again...we forgot to pull out the camera when Chris was still home. By the time we remembered, he was off to work. =(
As we left Crystal and Chris' place, Connor let us know that he was hungry.
MMMmmmm Toast, hash browns and an omelet!
After he was full...
...we hit the road again. Now that's one happy baby right there!

We decided to take Highway 101 all the way to Oregon. The scenic route sounded fun.

Everything at Confusion Hill was a bit...odd. Johnathan had seen a program on it months before. When we saw it along the way we just had to stop and experience it for ourselves!
Yes! Jannene is walking up a slanted wall!
Look again, she is NOT touching the ceiling!
No hands! And nearly no feet!
We didn't stay in the One Log House. Instead, we stayed the night a few miles north, in Crescent City. Johnathan assured Jannene that the drive along Hwy 101 is better by day.
We're awake and ready for another day on the road!
Even Jannene can be happy at the crack of dawn!
This photo was taken just north of Crescent City. Shortly after leaving this scenic pull out, we saw this...
This looks like a VERY uncomfortable way to ride a bike!Around eleven AM we started to get hungry...
Yeah...No! We just couldn't bring ourselves to doing it.
After stopping for breakfast at a restaurant that looked MUCH better than the one above. We headed to the...

As we reached Lincoln City traffic was bad so Johnathan decided to take a back road. Along the way he saw an old friend mowing the lawn. We stopped and talked for a while.
It turns out that this lovely couple was part of Johnathan's life years ago. The lady was his seminary teacher and the guy, a good friend and member of the ward Johnathan was in during high school. This trip was definitely a surprise for Johnathan's parents and Grandmother!
Grandma & Grandpa Swart holding Connor for the first time.
Lori and Dave -- Great friends of ours! They helped orchestrate surprising Johnathan's family! Lori invited Johnathan's parents over for dinner. When they arrived the table was set for the appropriate number of people. As you can tell by the video, Johnathan's parents had no idea that we were coming.
No worries Grandpa, it has been a long day for Connor. He's not upset with you.

Our friends Susan and Bill
We also wanted to see Jannene's brother and his family this trip. We visited them in their home. This was Lance's family's first time of meeting Connor too.

Connor's cousins all played with and held him. Connor smiled and interacted with them for the most part, he appears to enjoy younger kids as much as adults. He's a very social baby.
Everyone be "silly!" Surprisingly, we all stuck out our tongues. The next day we visited more family and friends:
Henry and his wife are long time friends of Johnathan's and all around great people.
We had breakfast with Joe (Johnathan's brother) and Connor's Great Grandma Hayden.

We visited another friend from Johnathan's past, Charlie. We were also able to spend time with Theo, Johnathan's older brother.

Here are a few random shots.
While we were in Oregon we stayed with Lori and Dave. We had a great time and are glad that they were so willing to help us make this a memorable trip for all.
We had a great time! Connor was MORE than exceptional in the car. Besides having to stop every 2-3 hours to feed, entertain, change, burp, and love on him, the drive there and back went pretty quick.
