...that we are having a BABY! Haha!
The baby is now 17 weeks and 6 days along and is HUGE! We couldn't believe how BIG it is! Before, the entire fetus was visible in the ultra sound monitor. Now, ONLY the HEAD was visible, or a couple of legs, maybe a backbone. No matter what you looked at, the entire baby was just not going to fit in the monitor anymore. It appears to have LONG legs.
We were able to see the HEART beating. The chambers appear to be developing well. We have not had the main radiology appointment as of yet. That appointment will be on the 11th of February. The nurse said that is when they will be able to look at the organs to see if they are developing correctly AND...we will be able to tell the sex of the baby.
We THOUGHT we would find out today. However, due to the placenta and the baby's legs being in the way, we were not able to find out the sex of the child today. =( We were so excited going into the appointment, as we thought for sure we would learn the sex of our baby today. We will now have to wait a few more weeks. We can report though that the baby has a strong heart and looks healthy. We could see the scull, backbone, two legs and the entire body (except the area needed to be seen to determine the sex). For now...this wee one is still hiding its gender from us.
